Setting Issued Certificates as Public in CyberPass

This guide shows workspace members how to toggle certificates from private to public within CyberPass. Activating this feature generates the unique serial numbers needed to share verifiable proof of your compliance posture with prospects.

Prerequisites

  • An active CyberPass account

  • Existing issued certificates populated within your workspace.

Please note that visual elements may differ slightly based on your specific CyberPass version.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 — Navigate to the Certificates Manager

Open your CyberPass and verify your active workspace in the top navigation bar. Click the sidebar menu icon () in the top-left corner, look under the Workspace section, and select Certificates.

Step 2 — Enable Public Visibility for Specific Certificates

In your Workspace’s Certificates ledger, locate the certificate you wish to share externally. Navigate to the Public column on the right side of the row and switch the toggle to On (the toggle will slide right and turn blue).

Step 3 — Filter and Verify via the Public Certificates View

To instantly audit which of your credentials are exposed externally from within your active session, click the Public Certificates tab located in the top-right corner of the ledger header. This view displays only your publicly indexed records.

Step 4 — Copy the Certificate Serial Number

Locate your newly published certificate row and highlight or copy the unique alphanumeric string found under the Serial Number column.

Step 5 — Verify and Share via the Public Directory

Once you have copied the Serial Number, this unique code can be handed directly to prospects, clients, or your marketing team to verify your live certification status. Anyone can paste this identifier into the open registry to view your official, tamper-proof compliance drawer.

To see exactly how this looks to an external auditor, head over to our accompanying guide: Public Certificates Directory in CyberPass to walk through the lookup process.

Key Notes

  • Instant Propagation: Changing the public visibility toggle updates the CyberPass registry index in real time. Switching a toggle off immediately hides it from external views.

  • Security Audit Trail: All adjustments made to certificate visibility settings are automatically captured with timestamps and user details in the workspace Audit Log.

  • Granular Control: Visibility is controlled at the individual certificate level, allowing you to selectively showcase specific milestone versions while keeping others internal.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Fix

The certificate immediately disappears from the "Public Certificates" tab after toggling it on.

Refresh your browser window. If the issue persists, verify that the certificate has not been revoked or expired, which can occasionally override manual public visibility toggles depending on system policies.
